The Game is Worth the Candle

There is no doubt that discussion of intellectual property has gained new areas of application and an international dimension. At the present time non-material assets play one of the key roles in business transactions of various types. IP management has become an essential part of functioning strategies for world leading corporations. Hence, the role of a proficient IP system cannot be overestimated.

Weak law-enforcement in the country is still a Ukrainian challenging reality. However, rapid integration into the WTO and involvement in cross-border activity facilitate and anchor progressive changes.

Though frequently listed among constraints for investment, the Ukrainian IP system is in a queue for improvement as a point of credibility and IP assets secure. Reliable profits and predicable economic risks are those carrots that upcoming changes should result in.

It is already a tradition to prepare a topical issue on an annual basis. And on this occasion our contributors proved that IP is an inexhaustible field of research and practice.
