DLA Piper Advises Crown Agents on Agreement with Ministry of Health on Medicines Procurement
DLA Piper Ukraine has been advising British company Crown Agents on legal matters relating to a UAH 750 million agreement with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to procure medicines under a special state-financed program "Support of healthcare measures under individual state programs and comprehensive measures of the programmatic nature (ECPCC 23014100)". Crown Agents was defined in Ukrainian procurement law as one of the specialist organisations the Ministry of Health could engage for the state procurement of medicines and medical products under its approved programs.
The DLA Piper team provided Crown Agents with legal support − from initial negotiations up to the signing of the agreement. The services included drafting the procurement agreement, support in negotiations, as well as advising on various regulatory, commercial and tax matters.
The team was led by Alla Kozachenko, legal director (corporate and M&A) and Illya Sverdlov, legal director (tax), with the key input from Tetyana Zamedyanskaya, associate (corporate and M&A), under the supervision of Margarita Karpenko, managing partner and head of corporate and M&A.
