2017 General Counsel Summit will be held on June 1-2, 2017 in Warsaw

In partnership with the UJBL, the 2017 General Counsel Summit — the preeminent annual gathering of senior in-house counsel in Central and Eastern Europe — will be held on June 1-2, 2017 in Warsaw. This marks the Summit’s first ever appearance in the Polish capital.

The GC Summit brings together legal executives from across the region for two days and one night of meetings, professional development, networking, and socializing. This year’s event in Warsaw's InterContinental Hotel is expected to be attended by over 150 General Counsel and Heads of Legal from all over Europe and will feature Keynote speeches from Lightsource and IBM. It is hosted and organized by CEE Legal Matters — the leading source of news and information for and about the lawyers and legal markets of CEE. Sponsors include many of the leading law firms in Europe, including Slaughters & May, Wolf Theiss, CMS, Vasil Kisil & Partners (Ukraine), Zuric i Partneri (Croatia), TGS Baltic (the Baltic States), and Kocian Solc Balastik (Czech Republic). Confirmed speakers include Chief Legal Officers from Pfizer, Microsoft, E.ON, and many more.

Founded in Budapest in 2013, CEE Legal Matters publishes the widely-read monthly CEE Legal Matters magazine and hosts the popular CEE Legal Matters website. As part of its mission to inform and assist the legal industry in Central and Eastern Europe, CEE Legal Matters launched the first General Counsel Summit in Budapest in 2015 and followed it up with a larger event in 2016 in Istanbul. The GC Summit has, in that short time, become a circled date on the annual calendar for in-house counsel across the region, eager to stay informed about technological and legislative developments of significance, best practices of their peers, and other matters critical to successful performance of their vital roles.

The social element of the GC Summit — highlighted by the Gala Dinner on the evening of Day 1 — is a valuable part of the experience as well, providing lawyers an escape from their demanding schedules and a rare opportunity to relax and share stories among friends and peers. This year’s Gala Dinner, which will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw, will also feature the CEE Legal Matters’ Market Makers Award Ceremony, celebrating the senior lawyers identified by CEE Legal Matters as the most influential in creating the region’s modern commercial legal markets.
